BrickShooter app good for
I used to play the other persons version years ago on my pc, then found this authors version when I got my Mac.
Please PLEASE make it for iPad! I love this game but the slightly pixely look you get when its enlarged for the bigger screen is annoying considering you have to pay for it. Also since I upgraded my iPad this game has choppy, jerky movements now, very very annoying. I still love it but I play it less on my iPad now but lots on my Mac.
I love this game. I use to play it for endless hours on my laptop and its great to have a good iPhone version. Sometimes the blocks feel a little small and I miss. But still worth the money and the 5 stars.
I used to play this on the computer, as well. Its a simple game you may not play all the time but always come back to.
Some bad moments
BrickShooter is one of my favorite casual games--I love that I can take my time with this puzzle, and its a very satisfying time-filler. This iPhone version is very nearly as good as the desktop app, and Im enjoying it immensely.
I do have a wish list for the next update:
* It would be great to have a way to save my own scores (without having to be online)
* Id like to be able to see the second and third row of bricks (off the board) more clearly--perhaps dispense with the shadow on them? It makes it harder to see the colors
* Id love a way to turn off the "shaking" when bricks are cleared
However, this game is a great deal of fun and WELL worth the low purchase price!
As a regular and top-10 rated player of the browser version of BrickShooter, this is a bit of a joke.
The Bad:
The use of screen real estate is terrible making the bricks hard to select.
The bricks in the queue are dimmed making it almost impossible to plan ahead.
You cant use the database of games you already have. This is starting all over from scratch. It can take months to get to the top
It is missing the 6 color and 9 color games (what is up with that)
There is no way to load and save games (your current game is saved between launches however)
The Good:
The play is smooth.
The point score is displayed when you clear a set a blocks
You can turn off the sound
If you paid for the Mac or PC game $30, then paid for the online game $20/year, and then paid for this $4, you are out a pretty fair chunk of change and you cant share your scores (that make sense between the Mac/PC game and the browser game, but not the browser and the iPhone game)
Not recommended in the current form
Ok so, having waited for the native program and being an avid online player, this version is ok, but..
1. unlike the online version ou cant click he blocks fast enough to clear two in the same demolision if theyre back to back.
2. the top rated thing doesnt seem to update properly
3. the 2nd and 3rd row of blocks are dimmed to the point that you cant always tell what is coming next, which can REALLY mess you up.
4. with all that screen the menu and undo buttons are too large and the blocks themselves too small- Ive hit both buttons while trying to select blocks and often have to undo a "misfire"
Update these things and this WILL get 5 stars from me!!
It still feels like a downgrade from the web app... Needs more work.
Shame shame cant save your game.
I loved this game as a web app and its even better as a native application. I had hoped this would be one of the first applications released.
The gameplay appears to be very simple, but with more colors and higher levels it turns into a very challenging puzzle game. I love it!
It is a challenging game and I am completely addicted to it (as well as MotionX Poker Dice). I have a similar game on my pc and I was so happy to find that I could also have it on my iPhone. My only cricitism is that there is no autosave feature for a game in progress. Please add soon!
